     It started when my daughter asked me if I was fat. I knew I had gained weight and was not happy with the changes it brought to my body. You always get busy taking care of the things you need to and forget about taking care of yourself. My young daughters' question reminded me I needed to take care of myself. This is not only for myself but as an example to her and my son. It is also for my wife. I want her to be able to look at me as someone who is concerned about my health.
     That is really what this is all about anyway, is health. There is just too much information out there that proves that watching your weight is a major influence on your health.

Real Weight Loss Without Starving

    You want to lose weight huh. Well let's get started in way to lose pounds and start getting healthy at the same time. I am not talking about a severly restricted or bland choice of food. I am not talking about an extreme fitness regimen either. What I am doing and telling you about is an easy, tested way to lose weight by chosing the right type of foods. Here are some of the strategies and tips I have :

■Why calorie counting will never work for long term weight loss and how restricting calories is probably the worst thing you can do to lose weight.


■Why carbs are not your enemy and how to enjoy a healthy fat burning nutrition program that includes all the carbs you need.

■Which “so called” health foods are actually making your body store tons of fat

■Why you must, must, must eat lots of food in order to finally shed the pounds and why many people have been falsely led to believe the complete opposite.

Calorie counting doesn't work because you have to know what kind of calories you are taking in and how they effect your goal to lose weight. There is a difference not only between carbohydrates, fat and protein but he type of carbohydate, fat or protein you eat. A huge difference.

You diet must include all of the above, but again certain carbs will destroy our efforts and others will intensify your weight loss. Some of the carbs we may think and have heard are good for are not the right choices for weight loss. Whole grain wheat bread for example is not the best way to go.

As mentioned above whole grain wheat bread made be one of the so called health foods that will derail your weight loss. Still want bread. There are some breads available to us that are delicious and help us lose weight.
We need to eat more of the right types of food throughout the day to keep our calorie burning metabolism up. No starving because that is a sure step to gaining weight. Your body senses us depriving ourselves and begin to slow down our calorie burning process.

In other words, much of what you have heard about weight loss is wrong and in fact will make you gain weight. You probably have gone through this before. Lasting weight loss is doable. Lasting weight loss is not rocket science.
